“Slow Mow May!” in Ridgewood, New Jersey, celebrates biodiversity and environmental stewardship throughout May 2024. Join us in a month-long initiative to support local ecosystems by only mowing your lawn once every two weeks.. Lessening mowing allows native plants and wildflowers to flourish, and helps support our pollinator friends. Added benefits include reduced carbon emissions, water conservation, and lower landscaping costs.
The Pollinator Pathways program aims to create connected corridors of pollinator-friendly habitats to support the declining populations of bees, butterflies, birds, and other pollinators. These pathways consist of gardens, parks, and green spaces planted with native flowers, shrubs, and trees that provide food, shelter, and nesting sites for pollinators. By establishing these corridors, the program helps pollinators travel more easily between fragmented habitats, increasing their resilience.
